Fabulous Summer Tournament!

The Club Summer American Tournament was held on Sunday 18th July in 30 degree heat!

This is always a well attended, fun event which gives everyone the chance to play mixed doubles with a number of different partners, and potentially win!

This year we limited numbers to 24 participants due to social distancing requirements. Fun but competitive matches were played for over 3 hours under the watchful eye of club coach Damian Lane. Fortunately a few gazebos had been lent by members to provide much needed shade during breaks.

Congratulations to the winners Louise and Sam and the runners up Kate and Fiona.

Courts Resurfacing Complete!

We are pleased to announce that the renovation of all 3 courts is now complete.

The adjoining courts 2 and 3 were completed in March with the application of a polyurethane resin binder and recolouring, whilst our main show court number 1 was fully resurfaced and re-sprayed in June/July.

We are very grateful to the Greenham Trust and West Berkshire District Council for their financial help, without which we could not have carried out this large project.

With a growing membership base and many activities taking place each week, we are delighted that our members are able to enjoy such fantastic facilities!

Summer Tournament Sunday 18th July – Register Now!

To celebrate the opening of the newly resurfaced main court, we are holding another of our fun and friendly American Doubles Tournaments which have been so popular in previous seasons.

Register now to book your place for the tournament which is on Sunday 18th July from 2pm to 6pm.

Make an afternoon of it by picnicking on the Recreation Ground with family and friends.

Everyone is welcome, including juniors who can play with standard balls, serve and sustain a rally. The maximum number of players is 24, so don’t delay if you want to play.

It’s free to take part, and there will be prizes

The format is ideal for all standards of player and you don’t need a partner to enter. It would be lovely to see our newer members take part alongside “old hands” as this is the first tournament we have been able to run this year.
