In line with the Government announcement on Monday 22nd February, Pangbourne Tennis Club will re-open its courts on Monday 29th March.
Outdoor social tennis will be able to resume, including singles and doubles, 1:1 coaching and formally organised group coaching (maximum group size subject to confirmation).
We are looking forward to welcoming back our members and many new ones! Membership registration is already open, see the membership page for details. We have also published an exciting adult coaching programme and will add details for junior coaching soon.
Great news for 2021, we will resurface our main court and re-spray all 3 courts so our members will benefit from truly fantastic facilities when this is completed no later than June.
In 2020 we launched an online booking system to provide visibility of courts utilisation and to allow players to book in advance. All full and monthly members receive an invitation email to register.
Please note that whilst you can still turn up without booking, booked members will have priority. The system sends a confirmation email which is your proof of booking. It is very simple to use and does not show personal details of other bookings e.g. name.
For more information or if you have registered your membership and not received the invitation email, please visit the Court booking page.
The Club has worked hard in 2020 to raise the funds required to help with the ongoing maintenance of the courts and in particular to enable the resurfacing of our main court.
We are pleased to report that the Greenham Trust has awarded our project a match funding offer! As a result, donations by individuals or local businesses will be doubled through the Trust’s contribution, up to a certain limit.
We are also delighted to announce that our bid to West Berkshire District Council has been successful. We will receive a grant from WBDC in the Spring and this will enable us to carry out the resurfacing of our main court and the re-spraying of the other 2 courts.
This is fantastic news and we are very pleased that our members will be able to enjoy fantastic facilities with 3 new courts this summer. The likely dates for the work are April for re-spraying the adjoining courts (1 week of unavailability) and May or June for the resurfacing of the main court (5 weeks of unavailability for that court).
